YOU KNOW YOU CAN LIVE YOUR LIFE WITHOUT DEPENDING ON FREE WI-FI RIGHT?
We all love free WiFi,to be honest; but we don't always get free WiFi😕. Some people will enter the bank and be looking for WiFi.
Some of us will even be looking for free WiFi on the road, when the car is moving oh!
Well...it's okay. With the tips I'm about to share with you, you can save big on your mobile data without depending on finding free WiFi by "luck".Soooooo...Lego!
- LIMIT BACKGROUND DATA: I know this sounds unimportant and might seem to be too big a move just because you want to save data, but it's worth it. In your phone's settings, there's Data Usage, click on it and restrict App background data. By so doing, certain app functions (heavy apps mostly) will only work when connected to a free Wi-Fi (which most people hardly find😂). Snapchat for example is big data consumer. Its 'Travel mode" doesn't reduce overall quality, but it does prevent the Snapchat app from automatically loading things like stories in the background when your mobile data is on, therefore saving data.
Data Usage allows you to see how your apps are exhausting data over time, and you can adjust your data usage habit patterns accordingly.
- MANAGE SYNCED SERVICES: Here's another somewhat unnecessary feature that drains your data, unknown to you. The Syncing feature of android devices is another heavy data consumer. When you are due Google account to your Android, several services linked to your Google account are syncing, that is, When your Email/Gmail syncs, you see the same messages on your other devices (laptops, iPads and so on). Syncing itself consumes data, that's why you should make sure what is syncing is useful, if not, your data would keep getting exhausted quickly and you'd keep putting the blame on innocent MTN😔. To manage synced services,go to: Settings > Accounts > Google, and remove from the sync list every unnecessary app that's turned on sync.
- CHROME DATA SAVER: I am a victim of Google Chrome's notorious heavy consumption of data. This tip has been saving me. Well...Chrome has improved in that aspect, as a data saver feature is in the settings. Go to Settings in your Chrome, then enable Data saver. This would simply save you more data.
- DISCARD THE FACEBOOK APP: Chill...don't stone me na! I don't mean you should stop using Facebook (before some people will blast me), I just mean you should uninstall the Facebook app, the access it through your mobile browser. You can just create a shortcut of the site "Facebook.com" on your Home screen. This will save you tons of data. The Facebook app drinks data.
Thanks for reading.
Please if you know some other ways WE can save our data, drop your tips in the comments.☺
